Community update: Week 4

The great battle of Troy…

Some of the most exciting things – for me – working in Grepolis is the amount of new things I learn every day as well the places that my mind travels. The old greek society, their customs and myths have been the stuff of long day-dreams, the amount of books and movies just keeps growing… And we like to contribute a little to this. So it would be impossible to skip the battle of Troy! Very soon we will be unleashing our first event “The battle of Troy” – So instead of me just blabbing how amazing it is, this time you get to comment what do you think the event will look like.

The browser version was updated to version 2.79,

The browser team has been working close with the QA team, and will continue on it. One of their main focus right now is to make sure the event will not break.

The app team…

Right now we are just finishing up 2.79 and getting it ready to ship-out. As always, the team outdid themselves, better and newer screens keep showing up…

    Hey Guys,

I was totally surprised as you have published your rule change with your game. And here most of the strange rule §6. How do I imagine that?
Let’s take a try good old chessboard. If bugs are completely normal in the game, my chessboard suddenly has a black box less? Instead, there are at this place a white box more? And this becomes part of this game? Or perhaps another example. Let’s take just Monopoly. Due to an error, take on the park road as rent for a house at once the same money as a hotel. That’s also part of the game rules and therewith part of the game. In a “Mensch ärger Dich nicht!”-Game, it is a goal to which there are only 3 end panels. The gamer brings in its 3 figures in this case instead of the 4 figures from the other players and has won compliant?

Of course, I realize that there are a few bugs in Grepolis. After all, I am trying for months for the beta, abnormalities to report so that the normal worlds arrive fewer mistakes. But if now errors are classified as something abiding by the rules of the game, the beta all efforts on the part of the players is obsolete and superfluous?

We see this rule not as the game is broken, but as the game is getting better each day. But we also need to be realistic and make sure our players are aware that something might break down.

Saw the event on InnoGames TV. Really excited to see a “thracian conquest” type event again – that was a lot of fun.

One question: is the healer at least restricted this time? I don’t mean gold, I mean how many times you can re-buy. There’s a couple players who finished the event in 2-3 days. That’s a pretty ridiculous imbalance to the game, to be honest.

Especially in a world as new as Sinope.
