About Grepolis

In December 2009, Grepolis became the third game programmed by InnoGames to be released on the market. This browser game sends players on a trip into the world of ancient Greece: Starting with a small polis, which they build into a metropolis over the course of time, they forge powerful alliances with other players and draw on the powers of the Greek gods. Within just a few weeks, the game-nominated for the German Developer Prize-broke the barrier of a million active players and is now one of the most popular strategy games on the Internet. In 2012, Grepolis won the award as „Best Classic Browser MMO“ at MMO of the Year.

    Annoying Bug, about the Grepolis:

The pop-up windows are located too high, blocking the views of each type of resources indicators, very annoying,

When the application is launched for Windows Phone 8?

    Graciously,
    Michel Lopes

    • Marcel Zons says:

As soon as Adobe Air is available for Windows Phones, it is very likely that the app becomes available for these devices as well.
Unfortunately, we do not have the power to make this change happen. Only hope remains! 😉

I am writting in the name of all wp8 users: can you make availabe the webservice api that you use also for iphone and android? I want to make wp8 phone app for grepolis and share it with all players of this game. I just want to have the same advantage as iphone and android users.

  4. ghost whisperer says:

When will the app be made available to the samsung galaxy note 4 users?

    • Jordan Coutout says:

Hi Ghost Whisperer! That’s is unfortunately not a question we have an answer to as we are not responsible for the compatibility requirements. Those are decided by Adobe.

May i ask why does event’s never have rewards for artemis , pretty much every server has artemis included, so why are the spell rewards based on gods not apply for artemis , i don’t see any griffin or caledonian bear reinforcements, are there any reasons for this ?

    • Tobias Winter says:

      Hi,
yes there is a reason. We still have old worlds without Artemis and therefore we can not easily offer the mythical units in the events. As soon as all worlds without Artemis have been closed, we can also offer these kind of rewards.

    Hello dear developers.
I have a question. I am playing Grepo for many years since 2010, and I know many players from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia. many of them, including me, wondering why do developers do not think about us and do not make a some new server for us. It could be even one server for all 3 Baltic states (every can choose his language for game). Or different servers for any of them, as you wish.
Many similar games like Ikariam, Travian, are very popular there, and I am surprised that we still do not have our own Grepo. Actually I do not see any INNO game in our language, but I may be wrong.
I hope you will think about it.
    Thank you for your attention,
    Best regards.
    Martin.

  7. Diodemus says:

    Dear Dev-Blog-Team,
can you please explain how you choose the answers which get published?

    • Nils U. says:

      Hi Diodemus,
i for my part take only care of all the questions and comments referring to Feature/Game-Design. The other questions are mostly tackled by CM’s (which i can’t speak for).

How i choose which to answer:
      – First i check if its a topic where the Design-Team has or had influence on, so i can provide a relevant answer. I thereby have a look on the purpose (which is sometime between the lines) of the comment to publish.

      – Is it a question which needs an answer then i’ll happily publish it and provide an answer but if it is a questioned aiming to insult peoplemof my team i will not publish it.

      – If you provide some positive feedback sure i’ll publish it, as human beings we are happy to read that sometimes as well 😉

      – I will publish most improvement ideas you send in too. Sometimes commenting or asking questions to it depending on the content.

      – If you write a statement of respectful critic, then sure i will publish this as well. I’ll then try to explain things or ask the authors question on his shared criticism.(If its not already answered by a generals statement by us)
The important part is, be respectful with your feedback/critic then i’ll answer as much as i can. Its 100% okay to say you dont like feature “xy” maybe even giving a reason but if a person tailors insults into his Gamedesign related posts or threaten to do or dont do stuff i will not publish this.

So generally speaking, if the post be it question, statement or feedback has content to be commented, a question i’m able to answer or which can stand on its own it gets published by me. If the the detailed meaning of the question/statement is not clear in the first place and the other criteria fit i’ll publish it and will ask for detailed clarification. If someone tries to be a jerk i wont.

I hope this answer helps to understand how i select the Design related posts i publish.
If you are now asking yourself “Is he even reading all of this?” Yes, you should know that i read all of the comments you guys post here, even if they should not get published they get read and will be on my mind, some longer then others.

      Cheers Nils

    Hi grepolis dev-team !
    Inglese Italiano
I would like to propose a change to the game, which in my opinion and that of the whole community is essential and important for Italy and physiognomy of the game.
We would like to propose some sort of “throwback” when it comes to gold coins, or remove the immediate purchase and insert how once the halving.

    Possibly?

    • Nils U. says:

      Hi Mark,
i respect your with of removing the instant purchase and instead have the “reduce the build/recruite time by half” back.
In this case i need to tell you that we back then tested and decided for this approach which we definitely want to stick with.
But still thank you for coming forward with your thoughts even if my answer might not be the one you hoped for.
      Greetings

    • Jennah says:

I watend to spend a minute to thank you for this.

I have a couple of ideas for improvements to Grepolis.

    1. have it to where you can use any support in your city, and if not i’d at least like to be able to support my own ships to my other city and use them there and not lose them if i lose my city that they are from.

    2. That building out on the water in city view, i wish you could make it useful instead of just having a random building that has no use. I don’t know what i would want it to be, so i’d leave that up to you.

    3. More gods. I’m a greek fanatic and i love anything greek(hence why i play this game) but i think more gods with some different abilities would make it better.

i hope to hear from y’all soon, thx.
    Regards NarutoNamikaze

    • Nils U. says:

      Hi Nathan,
thanks for handing in your ideas. I’ll give you my first quick thoughts on those.

      1. Allowing that fleets, belonging to another base city get bound to the supported city after the base city got conquered would be a major gameplay changer. Im not so sure that the majority of the players would want to have such a change. Why? Cause you would be able to transfere troops from the backland of your empire towards front cities not build to construct those ships (Not having harbour or only low) and also save travelling time by this.

      2. Yes that building on the small island at the coast looks a little lost and is without purpose, i somewhere also read one or two comments concerning making it useful. Im gonna give this a thought and maybe we can come up with a neat little something to have there.

      3. Concerning new gods thats a though we from the team absolutely share. To be honest we already hat some rought design concepts and even graphics for some but work on this was stopped some time ago. But that is definitely something which we think would deliver even greater strategic options and more fun in the game. Did you already have some gods or spell/effects on your mind ? Would be interesting to hear.

      Thank you

    BONJOUR,
je n’ais pas de héros dans ce monde comment faire pour le recruter.
    MERCI

    • Nils U. says:

      Hi Olive,
I don’t know on which world you are playing, so it might be that you are playing on one of the few worlds were the heroes are not activated.
Normally you get at least one hero Andromeda during the tutorial quest.
But if there are heroes active on the world look in the main interface on the right side, check the area below the god and favor button.
Click on that area, there you will find the hero screens with different tabs were you can recruit new heroes, assign them to towns and level them up.
If that doesn’t help please contact the support or ask in your forums for more help.
I hope that worked out for you.
      Cheers

    Hi Nils

I would like to leave some feedback with regards the new update which prevents WW being built on 1 x City Island, it has been in the game for as long as i remember and usually used as a tactic for lesser Alliances to block the dominant force attaining all 7 WW. I understand the need to try and improve the game and seemingly balance things out, i was never a fan of this tactic but totally understood the need for lesser Alliances to use it.
Here is the problem , World Zancle is 18 months + Old, a lot of players have dedicated time , resources and i would imagine Money in the game. There is a 1 x WW city wonder in this world , it has been defended for 6 months now, the dominant alliance has spent that time travelling and preparing cities all around it. Most of the other players left in the world have taken the defensive stance. Everyone new the rules on entry to the world and have played accordingly.
The New update is to be applied retroactively, the majority of the world sees this as an unacceptable rule change mid game , this includes players from the dominant alliance which will benefit directly from this rule change. So in a nutshell everyone’s efforts have been in vain and pointless. There is a lot of ill feeling and negativity around this decision, some players have indicated they will leave grepolis. I will be one of them as clearly this is not ethical in the sense some players will either have a positive effect from the rule change and others negative, that is neither fair or balanced.
I would ask you to look at the decision and reverse it in any cases where WW have already been built on A 1 x city Island in a World. I can’t imagine it would be numerous Worlds.

About InnoGames – What does ‘Inno’ mean? Is it an abbrevation? 😀 I’m curious… how the company name and logo have been created? 🙂 Who knows…

    • Nils U. says:

      Hi Thasoss,
nice and interesting question you are asking 🙂
The Term “inno” stands for “innovation”.
The idea of the InnoGames founders years ago when the founded the company, was to create innovative new games. And back then there weren’t many of those games you can find today on the web or on the mobile phone. But its not only about innovative game concept but about single features, mechanics or even the general content. If you look for example for Forge of Empires an the huuuuge amount of content which several world ages. You can realy play it for years always seeing new content. I dont know any browser/mobile game that can provide this.

Concerning the Logo i must admitt i dont know which artist Designed it, so i cant give you any details on this.

      Cheers and have nice holidays.

    Bonjour,

    Cordialement -HERMES-1963

I would like to see more Gods that you can have such as
Aphrodite: Goddess of love, beauty and desire.
Apollo: God of light, healing, music, poetry, plague, prophecy, and more.
Ares: God of war and bloodshed
Artemis: Goddess of hunting, wilderness, animals and childbirth
Demeter: Goddess of farming, the harvest and fertility
Dionysus: God of wine, parties and festivals, madness and ecstasy.
Hephaestus: God of fire, metalworking and crafts.
Hermes: God of travel, animal husbandry, writing, trade, and more
Hestia: Goddess of the hearth, home and chastity

And make them so you can use them the same as Favor in the Temple. And when you have them then you can do the spells that those Gods do same as Hera and Zeus do. That would be cool

    The world speed is 4!
I had written to Support any times in the past, no action…
I also wrote to Devblog Grepolis, no answer…
