Community update: Week 16

Dear Community,

This week our designer Nils shared the second part of his article about the new award system “Grepolis Score”. At the same time we have been preparing the Easter event to go live on the orthodox communities (Russia, Romania and Greece).
On April 20th we deployed our latest version 2.110 with the color picker feature on the strategic map and the new smoke and fire indicators for towns on the map. Now it’s up to you to give us your feedback so that we can improve.

The “color picker” comes up automatically when the strategic view is selected. This is just a horrid distraction. At least give us the option of turning this thing off.

I don’t see the need for this anyway, since it was so easy to assign colors to players and alliances the way things were.

      Hi SunTsi,
thank you for sharing your thought on the color picker as it seems to be distracting to you when opening the screen.
I can tell you why the team decided to put it that way.

We all know that the color picker is only needed on the strategic map anywhere else this function wouldnt make much sense.
So the next thing we had to think of is were should we put the function in the interface without overloading it. Thats were we again took to account that the picker is only used on the strategic map. So in order to prevent adding another button to the interface we decided just not to have another button for the function. Instead we implemented a small instantly opening window which we think should be convenient for everybody. That way its not blocking anything for advanced players, its not crowding the interface, its easy to use and noticeable for new players.

I hope my short explanation helps to give you an idea why we implemented it that way and why we thought you guys could handle this easily.
      Greetings
