Community Update: Week 17

This is what happened since the last community update:

Windows Store

As announced in the Roadmap, we are currently working on a Grepolis App for Windows devices (PC and Tablets running on Windows 8). So far available on the English, German and French Windows Stores, the App can now be also found on the Spanish and Argentinian Stores. Download it now and profit from live notifications on your Metro. Do you like the app? We are looking forward to your positive rating in the Windows Store!

Server Maintenance Work

To keep the servers running smoothly, we are currently upgrading our server database software. Maintenance work can only be done in offline mode and therefore we need to have some short downtimes on each world and each market while upgrading the servers.

The following markets have already been upgraded:

Monday, April 22nd SK, SE, NO, DK
Tuesday, April 23rd NL, PT
Wednesday, April 24th CZ, ES, HU, IT

The following marketsโ€™ upgrades are scheduled:

Thursday, April 25th PL, RU, BR, GR

The other ones will be upgraded within the next few weeks. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding!

Island Quests

As time flies, the development of the Island Quests is coming to an end and we thought it was time to introduce the complete concept to you before you can give it a try on our beta servers. Island Quests aim to increase the activity on a world in the early game, especially on speed 1 worlds where building construction takes time and the resource production is low. Current Progress

The development of version 2.39 is soon coming to an end. We are quite confident that we will be able to deliver the Island Quests and the First-7-Days Login Reward System. However, the Heroes will need some more weeks to be finished and polished before getting released.

Bugs

  • 52 bug reports have been created this week
  • 32 bugs have been resolved this week
  • 5 bug reports have either been a duplicate or invalid
  • 31 bug reports are currently unresolved

Bugs hot-fixed during the week

  • Ghost town links in reports were no longer clickable;
  • Checkmarks for completing the tasks of a quest were not displayed anymore.

Support activity

  • 6222 tickets opened
  • 5844 tickets answered
  • 7.03 hours average first response time

      Maybe the Alliance Finder that we plan to implement will be useful to you. It will not help you to create an alliance but it will help you to join one ๐Ÿ™‚

    While I agree with Pop limits as a game limiter I don’t care for the requirement that all troops must return to their city of creation before being launched again.

    Wouldn’t it make more sense to allow troops to be prepositioned at any owned city and launched from there? This would strongly benefit strategy development and increase the wasted game time while troops travel around for no good reason.

    Just wondering about some slightly advanced research topics for the Academy. What about having Medicine and Health as a research topic between Academy levels 10 and 15. A possible benefit of this research might be a reduced effect of Hades Plague spell and, perhaps after another research topic ‘clinic’ is completed, troops might not be lost in a battle but be listed as dead/wounded/survived. The wounded and survived would return to the home city and the wounded could, after a set time, become fully healed.

    How about adding more gods and more units? I mean there are a lot out there, and how about units could have stronger or weaker attack against certain gods. And one last thing, How about making myth units be able to be positioned in cities but that have different gods? That would create many advantages and influence myth trading

    How about having an ability to accept or send myth units to cities with other gods? Maybe learn that ability in the academy or something? Also how about myth units having an advantage or disadvantage over cities with certain gods?
