Community update: week 5 & 6

Dear Community,

Welcome to our community update for calendar weeks 5 and 6. Here are all the news since our last update:

Q1 2017: Team changes, community focus, technical improvements

A lot is happening behind the scenes in the InnoGames offices lately. For instance we recently introduced a new member to our Grepolis family: Bernard, our new Game Designer. Bernard takes over Andreas’ responsibilities since he will lend his expertise to new projects in the making.

But that’s not all. We spent the past weeks discussing our development strategy for 2017. One thing we can mention already: We want to focus a lot more on improving the game and implementing improvement ideas from our community.

Therefore we tidied up our development backlog and validated ideas, suggestions and requests we have gathered over the past years.

One result of this process is an upcoming sprint that is almost solely dedicated on performance related improvements in an attempt to improve the stability of the game in situations with a lot of commands being sent to single players.

v2.131

Version 2.131 has been released this week, bringing travel times to the attack preparation screen of Island Quests and implementing first technical adjustments for our planned rework of the Island Quest system.

Additionally we adjusted the way awards are displayed, to make it a lot clearer as to when awards for recurring events were obtained.

Next version preview / beta testing of Island Quest changes

We are in the process of concluding the sprint for version 2.132. This version includes some elements of the Island Quest rework that will first be activated on beta servers to allow for testing and adjustments and later rolled out to other game worlds.

Additionally we introduce the option to use town IDs instead of town names in the attack planner. As town names are not unique per game world, we know that many of you encountered issues when trying to set up an attack plan for a town name that multiple users chose. In these cases you can now use the town ID instead.

The current update schedule for v2.132 is as follows:

Tuesday, February 21st: NL, SE and SK market
Wednesday, February 22nd: international roll-out

If you are interested in a preview of the Island Quest changes, keep an eye on the daily beta changelogs. We currently expect the first changes to hit the beta environment towards the end of this week or at the beginning of next week respectively.
