Community update: week 49 & 50

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

Welcome to the last bi-weekly community update of this year!

Goodbye 2017, hello 2018!

The year is coming to its end and we are slowing down the development processes a bit. This means we will take some time to look into smaller changes and technical improvements while our developers get to spend the holidays with their loved ones. Don’t worry, though, of course we will continue our customer support during the holidays nonetheless.

The annual peace times for Christmas and New Year’s respectively have been announced for each market. Tyche’s Advent Calendar will keep you busy until the end of December and for 2018 we already have the next wintery surprise up our sleeves.

With the beginning of next year, the next player council call is also already scheduled. It will take place on January 12, 2018 and is targeted to discuss the top priority suggestions of the council.

In closing, we would already like to thank every single one of you for your ongoing support and passion for Grepolis. You stayed with is through another exciting year and we are very grateful for our loyal player base. Enjoy the holidays and see you in 2018!

v2.153

We updated to game version 2.153 this week.

The Bandit Camp screen has been reworked. It now provides more information targeted especially towards new players: When hovering over attacking or defending units, the matching attack and defense values are highlighted in order to teach new players which units to use against their opponents. Furthermore, battle points are listed in the loot section and travel times are shown from Bandit Camp stage 10 onward.

For more experienced players, we added a sea number display above the coordinates display, highlighting which sea your currently selected city in the city view is located in and showing which sea you are currently exploring once you switch to the strategic map view.

In the background we also concluded the preparations for the next in-game event, which will come with a frosty surprise.

Next version preview

The development work for the sprint to version 2.154 will be concluded by the end of this week. However, this update will not be released until early next year.

While this version does not contain a lot of visible changes for our players, we worked on several technical requirements for early 2018.

Additionally, with this version we prepared a little something for our mobile app users. We’ve heard several requests about city renaming in the app and now it will finally be possible to adjust the names of your cities, even as a mobile-only player!

There is currently no update schedule for v2.154 yet. We will keep you posted as soon as we have a final date for the release in 2018.

If you can’t wait for next year to all the other upcoming changes, you may join us on our beta servers. Sandbox 8 just opened its doors and lets you start on a new beta world with 5 premade cities ready for you to use!

    Dear Bernard,

May I ask you something with the attack planner? Do you think, there will be a possibility for the notifications to change the look. Because it looks like exactly, if you get a support from somebody else, and this is very annoying. It will be a great idea, if the player could determine exactly, that this is a notification from the attack planner., which means you have to note that you have to start it in a short time from now. It will be also great, if the user can distinguish between attack and support notification, so it will be much more easier, to manage it.

What do you think of the possibility?

    Sincerely,
    Mim

      Hello Mim,

I think your idea really makes sense. I will check with the devs, but that shouldn’t be a problem to change.

      Thanks for feedback
