Welcome back to our bi-weekly community update. Here’s your fix of the most recent news regarding your favorite game, Grepolis. 🙂
Spartan Assassins – Community goal adjustments
Following recent reports about some game worlds not progressing well in the current event, we have taken the opportunity of the update to version 2.157 this week to adjust the balancing of the community goals on any world that was far from reaching the second or third community goals respectively.
The way this event balancing works is that the goals get calculated the moment the event starts. However, within the two and a half weeks after the event start a lot can change on a game world, potentially impacting the event performance capabilities of the active players on this world. Therefore we decided to help all those worlds that had issues with the values that were initially calculated and hope that they still get to achieve even more goals before the event ends on February 28!
This week, we released version 2.157 for browser, while still awaiting the approval for the app.
As mentioned before, this update came with adjustments of the community goals in “Spartan Assassins”, but also with other update content, such as changes to the crowns in user profiles, several code changes and a new hero.
Eurybia is a new heroine that is currently not fully visible in the game yet. She will become available with our next in-game event. Her effect reduces the construction time and costs of Triremes. Eurybia is unique in a way, as both her name and her effect were suggested after combined efforts of the German community. If you have other hero suggestions, we are always happy to hear them, so follow this example and keep the feedback coming! 🙂
The mobile update is still pending at this point, seen as we await the approval for the new version on Apple’s side. As soon as the new version is released, you will get to see our new live conquest information screen, which will provide you with all relevant information for ongoing sieges on your cities.
Next version preview
We’re in the process of finishing the sprint for version 2.158.
This version comes with some changes to the notification system and the removal of a known but somehow forgotten feature.
For the notifications, we have replaced the icons of two very distinct notification types: attack planner notifications and admin notifications.
The attack planner notifications used the same icon as supports and admin notifications looked exactly like any report you receive on game side, causing potential moments of shock whenever we decided to send out an admin notification from the game’s backend. Both types now have their distinct icons:
Furthermore, notifications about supporting units arriving in one of your cities now display the name of the city they were dispatched to. This should make it a lot easier to know exactly what is going on where currently.
Finally, we have decided to remove the in-game chat in Grepolis. This feature had been deactivated for several months now due to technical, Flash-related, difficulties. Unfortunately these technical difficulties would have meant that a complete overhaul of the chat would have been necessary in order for it to work properly in the future. However, seen as less than 5% of our active players have tried to access the chat during the months since its deactivation, we have now decided that our resources are better spent in the development of other features that more players will get to enjoy going forward. Sorry to everyone who liked using our in-game chat!
The current update schedule for v2.158 is as follows:
Tuesday, March 6: NL, SE and SK market
Wednesday, March 7: international roll-out
The following statistics represent activity between February 8 and February 21:
|New tickets||Answered tickets||Av. resp. time||Rated tickets||Av. rating|
Have a nice weekend!
