Community Update: Week 47

We got to work this week on an old issue, for quite some time our communities complained that it was time to revive the game graphics and this week we present the new city animations!

Christmas!

Thankfully with our beta community we were able to squash many bugs that were not found on the development phase of the Christmas event! On behalf of every one working on this event our big “Thanks” to these testers!

Version 2.75

We rolled out our new version of Grepolis on the beta community. We focused mostly on revamping the city animations and fixing issues related to the Christmas event.

The app

We just finished working on the newest version of the app, and as an mobile phone addicted – I have to say… it’s so cute! We hope to make it available to everyone very soon.

Wasn’t the Extended Inventory supposed to be available for events also?
Both the Halloween or the Christmas Event haven’t given the opportunity to store the rewards in the extended inventory, which means that you have to use them within the event period where many of them can’t be fully taken advantage of and therefore some of them are lost.

    “Extended Inventory (implemented in 2.68)
To insure that gifts from special campaigns and rewards from future events are not lost because your inventory is full, they will be stored in the extended inventory.”

Thanks for pointing this out… that’s right! In the first concepts and plans we had for the extended inventory, we wanted players to be able to store rewards from in-game events directly in the extended inventory as we think 5 (10 for premium players) slots are quite limiting. However we have now plans to increase the size of the inventory for all players and give it 5 more free slots and 5 more premium slots, which will result in a total of 10 (20 for premium players) slots.

what about support for latest flagship from Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) .. grepolis is not supported is written on play store

    • Jordan Coutout says:

Hi Jan! It is indeed a possibility that the App can not run on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for some reasons that I unfortunately can’t provide you. Compatibility requirements are defined by Adobe and not by our company as the App uses the technology Adobe AIR.

      • Jan says:

        Hi,

that is not really true 😉

I think that app on play store is not marked as available to this device.

Thing is that I have downloaded APK file from internet (same that is on play store, and it’s run without any issues.

So what is really problem – app is there, it’s running fine, why cant download it in a official way? 😉

        • Jordan Coutout says:

I can check it again with our mobile devs but I still think this is due to the requirements from Adobe AIR. We, InnoGames, don’t have any reason to not let people install an app on their mobile if the app is compatible, quite the opposite! 🙂 We know about this ability to download the APK file to install apps but this is not officially supported.

          • Jan says:

as a SW developer I can understand releasing process if any issue or possible issue. but again, I have did not noticed any problems so far.

Maybe would be good idea to create ‘another’ version on playstore.

What I mean by this. In current app there is list of devices which are supported and play store allow them to install app.

If you create 2nd version of this app – called testing or beta or something what might be a reasonable name suffix from official version. In this version to be only devices which are not in primary. So people can install it on own risk with mind that app might not be 100% fit.

Once device is added to primary app, will be removed from secondary. so u can ensure that when UAT is done, everyone must move from secondary to primary.

Inno can benefit from that by creating field of testers on new devices. Player will benefit from it when they buy new device they can still play the game. so everyone is happy

            What do you think?

          • Jordan Coutout says:

Hi Jan, we looked again at the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the restriction does not come from us. We don’t set any restrictions by ourselves on the Google Play store. The compatibility list currently in the App is handled by Adobe AIR as mentioned before. We will take a look at the number of affected users and investigate the issue further.
