Community update: Week 26

Last week of our Summer event, and so far its been fun. The team here in the office are glad that most of you enjoyed, and have taken your feedback both positive and negative into consideration for future events that we might have in the future.

The browser version

The team has been working hard on clearing several bugs from the game with many backend changes to provide a more stable game and get rid of some real annoying bugs.

The app version

The mobile team this week continues to work and improve the app. This week there was a lot of work in the flow of existing features in the game and future ones.

The following stats are for activity between  25th of June to the 1st of July:

  • 1 bug reports have either been a duplicate or invalid

      No, there will be another event in late summer, probably in August/September. Stay tuned.

      Theoretically yes, but the effort would be too big. We decided to use our app development power for implementing missing core features that exist in the browser version but not yet in the app version. Currently we are working on the alliance forum.

    PLayers are able to gold whore and reach 20-30k points with 3-4 fully built cities full of troops these days, because of features like instant buy. And on the top of it, almost all worlds get released while an event is running, and these days you don;t take the pain to remove events from new worlds.

    This is not good for the game. You need to increase the costs of “Instant buy” or think about a daily cap of 1-2k gold(at most). You are loosing out the moderate gold spenders slowly.

    The alliance forum could be helpful, but I think also that implementing battle reports on the app would be very useful.

    When Grepolis was created 5 years ago, people played the game on their computers, but today these players are older, and they have now a work, or long studies to do (the majority of the players were students), and they don’t have time to play, so they leave the game.

    Today, people play on their phones, so I think that the development of the app should be a priority, to have more players in the game.

    A second point is that on the app, we don’t know there is a community forum, and maybe a new quest could be made to encourage the players to go on the forum. Because if the forum is empty, the game will be also, the two go by pair.

    All this to say that improving the app and encouraging players to go on the forum are more useful then for example changing the units design (2.90) which was a bit useless. I don’t want to criticize yor work, I only want to improve my favorite game.
    These are not only my ideas, but some are also from the French Community, and I think that devblog is a fantastic idea were Innogames talks about the future and where we can discuss about it whit the developers.
