Community update: week 05 & 06

Hey everyone,

As always, we would like to welcome you to our bi-weekly community update, this time for the calendar weeks 5 and 6.

Endgame discussion and adjustments

We would like to thank every single one of you who has taken the time to comment on our new endgame proposal.

We have received some valuable input, both in regards to suggestions and valid concerns and our Game Designer Bernard is in the process of implementing some changes to the initial concept, which should alleviate some of the concerns in the near future. As soon as he is done with this new draft, he will present a revised version for a second round of comments.

Game version 2.156 has been released this week, both for browser and for mobile devices.

The main change of this version lies in 3 heroes joining the regular hero rotation and losing their exclusive status: Medea, Daidalos & Telemachos.

An additional change that was planned for this version has been postponed to 2.157 due to viable user feedback: changes to crowns in player profiles. We initially wanted to give everyone more bragging rights for becoming the “Master of [world]” more than once by displaying different crown types in profiles. However, seen as the crown graphics we picked were not popular, we went back to the drawing board and followed a different approach, which will be presented with the next game version.

The mobile update brought Thessalonike the Mermaid to the mobile app. Valentine’s day can come!

Furthermore, we have selected two additional markets (NL and HU) next to beta that can currently experience our completely reworked code base and partial rework of the display of the command overview. We’re expecting these changes to improve loading times with high city counts significantly and are looking forward to rolling these changes out globally in the near future.

Next version preview

The sprint work for version 2.157 is being finished this week.

This version comes with the aforementioned crown changes, as well as the implementation of a new hero that will only be revealed with a new event.

On top of that, we will potentially get to release a long awaited update for our mobile app that has also been requested by the Grepolis Player Council: More information about ongoing sieges on owned cities instead of a generic notification shown in a popup. Here’s a sneak peak:

This change will also enable us to look into ways to share this report with other players from the mobile app. No promises at this point, however. 😉

The current update schedule for v2.157 is as follows:

Tuesday, February 20: NL, SE and SK market
Wednesday, February 21: international roll-out

Don’t forget that you can check out all the upcoming changes ahead of time on our public beta servers. Follow our daily changelogs to learn exactly what has been released for testing yet.
